7 indoor activities for 3 year olds

It’s that time of year again: The weather is finally warming up, the sun is out, and parents everywhere are starting to think about what to do with their children. One question that inevitably arises is: What can I do with my 3 year old that will keep them occupied indoors all day? In this blog post, we’ve compiled a list of 7 indoor activities for 3-year-olds that will keep them amused and busy. From crafts to puzzles to games, there’s something for everyone on this list!

Painting

There are a few different types of indoor activities that would be great for year olds. A few options include playing video games, watching TV, doing puzzles, or using a computer. It is important to find what interests your child and to keep their activity level comfortable.

Build a Tower

Building a Tower is a great way to spend some quality time with your year old. This activity can be done inside or outside depending on the weather conditions.

Materials:

  • Large cardboard box
  • Tape measure
  • 1″ PVC pipe (about 24 inches long)
  • Paint or decorating material of choice
  • String or cord to tie the box together (optional)
  • Matches or lighter (for burning stake into the ground)

Instructions:

1. Start by cutting the cardboard box into a rectangular shape that is about twice as wide and as long as you want your tower to be. Make sure the dimensions are correct before you start taping them together.

2. Cut a hole in one end of the cardboard box so that your PVC pipe can fit through it. You will need to make this hole slightly smaller than the diameter of your PVC pipe so that it will fit snugly. Once you have cut the hole, tape it shut with duct tape so that children cannot access it from the inside of the tower. If you are using a cord to tie the tower together, now is a good time to do so. Otherwise, children may be able to play with the tower after it is built without tying it down first!

3. Next, measure and cut two more holes in opposite corners of the cardboard box so that your PVC pipe will stand up straight when installed in its base on the

Play with Blocks

  • 1. Play with blocks is a great way for kids to get creative and have fun. Blocks can be used to create towers, houses, vehicles, and more.
  • 2. Some tips for playing with blocks:
  • Sort the blocks by color or shape.
  • Create simple structures first, then try adding more complex features as you go.
  • Try creating patterns with the blocks or using them in multiples to create something new and exciting.
  • If you’re having trouble coming up with ideas, check out some of the online block-building tools or ask an adult for help.

Make a Pet

If you’re looking for something fun to do indoors, consider getting a pet. There are dozens of different pets to choose from, so finding the right one for you is easy. Some great options include dogs and cats, but there are also many other types of pets that can be fun to have around.

When choosing a pet, make sure to think about what kind of animal you want. Do you want a dog or a cat? What size do you want? Do you want an animal that is quiet or one that makes lots of noise? Do you want an animal that lives in the house or one that needs outside access? Once you’ve decided on what type of pet you want and what size, it’s time to find one.

There are plenty of places to find pets in the area. Local shelters are always looking for new animals, as well as pet stores and online retailers. When looking for a pet, be sure to ask your veterinarian if the animal is healthy enough for your home environment and whether any special care needs will need to be taken once the animal arrives.

Draw with Watercolors

Watercolors are a great way to wind down after a long day and relax. Here are some indoor activities that will help you enjoy the process of painting:

-Start with a blank canvas or piece of paper, and fill in your colors using watercolors. You can use the same color throughout your painting or experiment with different shades and tones.
-Take your time and let the paint flow over the surface of the paper. Don’t worry about making perfect strokes; just relax and enjoy the process.
-When you’re finished, hang your painting on a wall so that everyone can enjoy it!

Sing with Instruments

If you’re looking for activities to keep your year old entertained during the winter months, why not try some of these indoor activities? All of these can be done with just a few simple items around your home.

One great activity is singing together with instruments. There are plenty of options available to make this an enjoyable experience, from karaoke systems to music libraries with CDs or even digital downloads. If you don’t have any musical instruments at home, no problem! You can find recordings of many popular songs online or in-store.

You can find recipes, instructions, and photos on websites, in books, or even on social media platforms like Facebook or Instagram.

And finally, one last idea for winter fun: going out for walks! A brisk walk will do wonders for getting your year old moving and being outdoors in the cold weather will be good for their morale too.
